Janeevah Layden witnesses her two best friends find love in whirlwind romances. She’s the first to admit that she enjoys the single life, but being the only single one in their trio makes her wonder if she’s missing out.
For years, her friend Austyn bragged about the fun she had at Southern Illinois University’s Black Alumni Reunion, so this year, Janeevah decides to take the trip to Carbondale with her friend to see what kind of trouble she can get into.
Juelz Anthony is fresh out of a relationship with his son’s mother and has been ready to move on from her for longer than he cared to admit. His ex refuses to let him go, and their constant arguing has taken a toll on him. When his boys confirm a trip to the Black Alumni Reunion at their college alma mater, he doesn’t hesitate to join them.
On the first night in town, Juelz watches Janeevah on the dancefloor and is mesmerized by her beauty and how she whines her hips to the music. Her aura pulls him in, and he doesn’t hesitate to express his interest in her.
